Description
This is an older image of Kayla (my granddaughter) snapped about a year ago. I just messed around with postwork experimenting with a high key effect! I sort of like it!
She has of course decided that we do not have enough stress with the upcoming wedding in 3 weeks time, so she gave herself a partial haircut! Oh yes - she did! So not ALL that innocent!!! We had to change the hairstyle that we chose for her for the wedding to one that is more suited to the new cut! *sigh*
Thank you for popping in and for your very valued comments and favs on my "Cape Robin" upload of yesterday!
Stay well!
Hugs
Carin xx

Beautiful portrait hig-key ! Very lovely Kayla!
Total cute-ness...love the post work!!! The self hair cut thing...lol!!! At least she gave you 3 weeks to fix it. It could have been 3 days!! :?
Carin...you always are giving me photographic ideas...high key is something I haven't tried yet...one of these days:) My two "little girls"...now well into their 30s, had two rather expensive dolls...both of which received botchy almost total trims one day. At least your little cutie's hair will grow back:)
Truly brilliance postwork.. Wonderful work.. You should be proud of her, and the picture itself, Carin.. Rob
superbe portrait!!
I too like the high-key effect. Very well done. I've heard many tales of children helping out by cutting their own hair. If I remember correctly, these commendable attempts to reduce the burden of child rearing on their parents by expanding into the arena of self-grooming are seldom appreciated by the parents. :)
Just love her blue eyes, bless her, I would loved to have seen your faces when you saw her new hairdo :o) :o)
Beautiful portrait, great shot and postwork!
Cool effect!
Impressive good shot.
a great portrait in high key nice details and composition
I doubt that any type of hairstyle by her own doing or by a professional would look bad on this beauty... excellent work on this photo.. and as a mom of two girls I have been there once, my older daughter decided to cut hers right before a vacation.. lol its funny now but I was not amused at the time.. Good luck with the wedding and most of all just enjoy every moment..
Fantastic portrait and postwork. Superb!!
how wonderful !!! stunning portrait work
Beautiful portrait with striking blue eyes. Maybe later on, your lovely girl will be an hairdresser :).
Wonderful portrait and high key postwork..!!
nice job
Perfect title and portrait
This is fantastic! She looks so epheral and angelic and the selective coloring of the eyes is wonderful. Has an almost Old Hollywood glamor shot feel to it.Oh weddings, oh kids. oh oh oh. My mother was fond of home perms when I was a kid. So, one day I decided to give myself one. It's a wonder I didn't blind myself with the chemicals. The result was that my brown hair frizzed out like a giant fuzz ball and turned an odd shade of orange. I still cringe when I think about it. I think I was about 8 years old at the time. I was a strange kid...
Your selective desaturation is wonderful! As long as she does not try that with her hair too! Well done, Clive
I laughed when reading about Kayla's new hair cut and can remember when I was a child I did the very same thing just before a dance concert I was in lol!!! She is adorable though, and I would imagine any haircut would suit her with that beautiful little face of hers. Love what you did to the photo Carin, it looks really artistic, hugs Jane xx
The innocent ones are the most dangerous! Stunning portrait. She looks like a beautiful alabaster statue.
Beautiful portrait and selective coloring! Thanks so much for the warm welcome back! Ray
wonderful portrait of a sweet little girl !
I think we've done that one time or another and perfected it a little more, lol. She is a cuttie... Aloha
Just look at this pleasing display of innocence - I love the post work, it renders and almost statue like image. I hope the wedding went well???
This is wonderful Carin.
