Description
Hello everyone and thanks for looking...
I'm still playing around with Image Based Lights, and this was done using the Ambient Occlusion IBL package that came with Poser. When you open up the IBL light in the poser material room it shows the image it's applying to the light. It's a picture of a reflective ball set in some location. Can anyone tell me more about how this works? Can I use any image in the IBL or do I have to use sphere shape? Can I cheat and use the Photoshop Spherize tool? Are there any tutorials out there that are worth the time?
Thanks friends, I appreciate your help.
Tom

The lighting looks good in this one Tom sorry I can't help you as I don't use poser enough to get into the lighting in there. I never could work out that lighting system lol.. Great render and pose my friend!!
cool character, pose and pov - never been good at poser lighting - always found it kinda puzzling - photoshop is a good option if you keep the scene simple.
Splendid and col work..bravissimo!:DDD.Hugsxx
Great work and image erland
Beautiful natural soft lighting in this. I'm not an expert but I think it is possible to use any image, and spherise may help give more predictable results. Why not try with say a red blob on a black background - this should give red lighting from the direction corresponding to the position of the blob. Experiment and you will learn! Do an internet search as well as I am sure there are others who have more info on this.
Nice work!
very cool render
Great pic here Tom, that is one amazing looking witch. Hope someone can answer your question.

Nice sort of witch. I certainly wouldn't burn her.
Well done. Nice realism and I like that background.
belle!!
I wish I could help, cause that would mean I have the answer, but I don't - lol... The witch reminds me of a woman I use to know that people called bitch - lol... but she had smaller boobs - lol... I like this image - awesome
excellent scene and Great work tom..
Very nice, Tom. Great POV and lighting!
Bewitching... somebody had to say it, right? Nice flow to the character that seems to interact with the BG.
First of fine image. As to IBL sources, I would love to see the outcome of the Photoshop Spherize tool. IBL Images are typically hi res but I have seen some articles on do it yourself approaches that allow for really economical setups. I have used varied images and it seems to work out ok. Some are more dramatic than others but experimentation is where we make the break through. Try my friend and I suspect something magic will happen
as for the lights tom i am no expert sorry ,i just fumble and sometimes get good results and sometimes not.. this one looks very good to me.
oh - sexy witch :) sorry - have no clue about IBL ...
