Description
Here you can see some of the ruins which came about during the 'Reformation' in the 16th century when King Henry the 8th tried to abolish the Catholic faith in England and set up the Protestants. The stepping stones were originally put in place by the monks from the Abbey. I actually walked across these
but half way over I realised it was a foolhardy thing to do at my age (69 on the 25th). The stones being low and the flow of water going from right to left made it quite disorienating to find the next stone, in fact one of our coach party fell in but I was not there to witness it. Pity. Lol.

makes me disorientated just seeing it...:) excellent capture...
Well Jeff stepping stones are not for you then. Imagine making your way back to the Abbey after several glasses of Mead at the local hostelry, i can imagine a lot of floating Friars. Great shot from a lovely spot.
And you didn't get the pic of the unfortunate tripper! Shame! What a super shot and a very interesting place.
Last time I saw this was during the war. Great photo.
Stunning image. Old Henry has an awful lot to answer for hasn't he! As for walking across the stepping stones....I get dizzy just looking at them! ^=^
I like it.....fantastic view!!Bravissimo!V:DDD.Hugsxx

I'd love to try the crossing! Intriguing photo done very well.
Superb capture! What a cool looking place. :)
Beautiful shot Jeff, I would have paid to see you cross on the stones and doubled it if you had fallen in LOL!!!!!!!!
Not easy to cross over those stones! Very beautiful place and shot !
Excellent capture! Yep! That would keep King Henry's men from trying to cross there. You really don't want to full in the water when you are wearing armor. ;D
first thing I thought of before I read your note was did you walk across the rocks I would have for sure.. fun to read that you did as well.. Great shot and fun story!!
Beautiful scene!!
beautiful, love the colors and lighting excellent work
FANTABULOUS IMAGE
You mean you didn't set up the tripod and automode as you crept your way across? Pity. I can see how the wind blowing the water would be disorienting if you looked down. It's a beautiful place, very tranquil now. A very beautiful shot.
Lol That would have made a great capture! Very nice scene. Great shot!
Lol!! Great!! Don't look down! Hahaha!
I would fall in water LOL :))
