Description
I heard about this place about 5 minutes after we got to Portland on Friday, and we saw all kinds of pink boxes being carried by all kinds of people. Last night, after dinner, we decided to find it. Everyone said there would be a line, and sure enough, at 11 pm, the line snaked halfway down the block. It moved pretty quickly, and then you got to see what they had. Raised, cake, filled, all fresh and gooey and so sweet just the smell will give you cavities. I bought two---custard filled, chocolate, and had one when I got back to my room--at midnight. The other one I had this morning, while I was on the phone. I had to excuse myself, since I was covered in sticky, yummmy, chocolate and that filling. omg......
Now I know why the place is magic---once you have one, you're completely entranced and will never be able to eat a donut not made in this wonderful place!!
The bright light is actually a sign that says "open late". And their motto is, "the magic is in the hole!!"

Sweeeeeeeeeet! Its funny with these things....when Krispy Kreme first came out I was addicted to it! But now the thought of them makes me ill. I find them just tooo sweet!

Like Denise, I'll have to take your word for it, because I can't have any of that decadent gooey and yummy sweet stuff. And I'm not even talking about the calories! That said, a nice voodoo ambiance in this cool night capture, M! I hope you didn't leave anything personal there when you left, not even a strand of hair.

The title and thumbnail drew me in. I'd love to comment on all your great photos but you put them up so fast I can't catch up! This looks quite entrancing. It's always fun to seek out the cool new foody thing whether you're home or visiting another town. Your discription was great and made me want to taste one. Places like this can be dangerous for me as once I'm hooked I can't get enough and REALLY am not supposed to be eating stuff like that any more. Great shot and narative.
