Description
Clear Wing Wasp Moth-Synanthedon resplendens (?)
Every year I get these cute moths emerging from the bark on my oak tree. Last year I only saw a couple. Today I noticed a few on the tree at once.
I still have yet to catch one emerging from its pupa, hopefully I can get one this week. This one had just emerged. I watched it as its wings expanded and hardened from a crumbled mess.
Thanks for looking.

What a wonderful thing to get to see, awesome macro with great detail, color and clarity!
nice macroshot
evolution really is cunning. I would have been fooled into thinking it was just some furry strange night wasp with no stinger if you hadn't said it was a moth
Very cool! Luck you have them so close to observe.
Excellent macro!
Brilliant work.
Damn fine. I love the way it looks freshly painted, like new traffic lines on the road.
Wow! Crystal clear macro. Excellent job. Aloha
awesome great job as always
Stunning macro my friend.
I've never seen one like this. Excellent shot. :)
stunning macro. Good pov and clarity.
This is the first of the species I've seen and I must say I'm impressed...but ah, insects are impressive, even when they're "dull" and boring sorts of insects...there's always so much more than meets the eye. This is a gorgeous specimen and those colors are quite nice. This one looks particularly harmful (those colors are probably intended to scare predators away) which probably means that it's a docile pussycat, relatively speaking. This is a great shot!
Wow what Fantastic colour nice image
Excellent capture. Very nice detail!
This is really amazing. Bravo !
Wow, I've never seen anything quite like THIS before ... it resembles a Roberfly somewhat. Excellent shot.
