Description
Millions of trees were snapped off at the trunk or uprooted completely. The entire area was covered in gray ashen silt, as fine as baking flour. Some places it was more than a foot deep. The National Park Service did not clear any areas other than the main road and certain walking paths. What you see in this photo, was what it looked like, after the dust settled. Rain has reduced the depth of the volcanic ash but the trees are as they were blown down.
Taken over 20 years ago, with a film camera and scanned yesterday.
Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous comments.
They are very much appreciated.

I remember when that happened, and it seems Mt. Saint Helens is rumbling again. Hope she doesn't blow her top off just yet. Excellent capture.
