Port Gamble was built as a company town in 1852, and the buildings there are kept in original condition.
I just love that wavy glass!

What a gorgeous photo! I love that glass and I'd love to see light shining through it from the inside too! I love those patterns and the color of the roofing shingles: no boring black for this place! Everything in this is just so perfectly captured! This is gorgeous! There's nothing in the world like a good piece of wavy glass! It's magical in a sense.

Another fine window capture from you, tara, and always with real thought. The window is rich & textured, and the patterns you captured in each of the 4 large panes is wonderful. And you gave us the "frame" of those victorian tear-drop shingles, which give just the right amount of contrast to the glass-panes. Like a lot of your window captures, simple & direct; but still complex w/ strong contrasts. There was a time when stained glass windows were far less costly, where even run-of-the-mill stained glass was put in many buildings as commonly as sheer glass. I'm sure this was from that time. Glad you gave us the purple shingles, they're just what the window ordered!

Fascinating comment above concerning stained glass being installed years ago because it was a cheaper alternative to clear glass!?!
