Description
This tree has found a prominent place to grow. This massive and splintered granite "rocky ground" is lower down on Mount Rushmore from the faces of the presidents...
Bill:)
P.S. A zoom really makes the rock pop.

Love the composition in this. Very well captured.
My arms ache at just the THOUGHT of carving that stuff! The beautiful blue sky makes a super backgroung for this compo.

Tenacious I think is the word. Great capture.
Great shot Bill. It just shows that a tree doen't need soil to survive.
Wonderful work Bill.
a wonderful rock!!!!!
Great capture of persistence by the tree. Excellent composition, as noted by others.
Most wonderful crop Bill! I love how the tree renders softness to the granite! There seem to be quite a bit of lichen on the rocks too!
Love the composition, the quality of the photograph, the detail, color ... Everything about this speaks of inaccessible places. I half expect to see a mountain goat coming around the corner. Excellent shot!
This reminds me a lot of Yosemite---love the contrasts!!
