I missed reading the sign here, but for those interested, here's a page from the museum website detailing the big increase in museum emphasis on this art from precontact to modern times. Click Here

This certainly beats the 'fascinators' that women wear to wedding nowadays! Super pic, Bill, with no distractions. How wonderful that you can take pics here!

Wow. Your Indians have a serious sense of style....seriously!

Gorgeous!!!
Fantastic shot of some fantastic bead work.
Most decorative display. You captured a colors so well.
Brilliant capture of some fabulous work, the patience in making these must be amazing.
I'm always fascinated that the North American Indian beading craft and that of Africa is so closely related... or rather - similar looking! Wonderful detailed shot Bill!
Excellent shot! Always liked Native American art.
Its just beautiful work on its own.. Wonderful capture and hardly a glare to be seen.. Oh how I wished for glass like this at London Zoo! Stunning Bill.. Rob
They are so cleverly done, & such pretty beads. The museum looks so interesting a few English paintings in there I see!!!!!
Outstanding capture, Bill! the colours are so beautiful
wonderful shot!! I think that the big item is a peyote fan (the small is a different kind of peyote fan) and the beadwork is the typical peyote (or Comanche) stitch. Sandra and I, we did copies of American Indian beadwork for exibitions using old Venetian beads (18th century). We still have some boxes at home.
Very excellent capture, Bill; turkey feathers, I think?
As a child I liked to read books of Fenimor Cooper very much. Thanks for remembering!
It has always amazed me what the native Americans could do with those little tiny beads. It takes me back years and years ago when I was in the Boy Scouts. We had entire classes devoted to native American lore. I developed a whole new respect for them. Outstanding photos, Bill! You're making me want to get off my duff right now and go over there to the Nelson.
Such elegance! This is a wonderful image. (Andrew is stealing my lines!)

GREAT CAPTURE...I MADE ONE VERY SIMILAR TO THE SMALL ONE. IT TAKES A LOT OF PATIENCE.
