Description
This is growing on a big tree stump behind a shopping centre, in the full sunlight most of the day. At first I thought it was an expanding foam used in the building industry.
I will leave it up to you to identify - I have had no luck with my books and net searching.
Cheers,
Clive

beautiful fungi
I've seen this stuff growing in my backyard woods and I think it is simply called Brain Fungus. The ones back in the woods come up in alot of different colors but white and yellow dominate. Cool photo:)
fantastic capture!
So that's where it got too! I knew I'd lost it recently. It is not the one we call brain fungus here, sitemail Lorandbartho, he's good at this!
So thats where I left it! Great picture.. Do like Fungi snaps and this is a cool one.. Rob
Great capture Of the brain Hugs Susan~
Very nice!
I've looked a little and may have come close (but not exact) with sparassis or cauliflower mushroom (?) Here's a link: Click here
Fascinating! All I can say is I'm not sure I'd eat it :)
Look's like it is in the False Morel Family. That's the only ones in the book that look brain like, but most of them are brownish colored. Hope that helps. You can just call it, Morel Brain! ;D Excellent find and capture!
EWveryone took my line.... But I'm still sure it is mine... Definitely feels today like I lost it somewhere! Wonderful find and shot Clive! :)
I wondered where I'd left my spare brain... Great find and capture!
Thanks for all the help! I think it is MY right brain - creativity has gone out the window for me...! Clive
yep a brain fungus and a really fine shot of this one!
Thank you Clive - you found my lost brain. :>) Magical capture. Fantastic lighting, color and texture. Dana
Not mine ... I keep mine right here beside me in this jar. :P
fascinant!
A quite beautiful wild brain obviously :)))
wonderful picture!!!!!! I assume that so some has such a thing in the head ;-)))
Brain of a tree? Very nice find and shot.
Great shot and found. You can eat this. In Holland we call it "chicken in the wood', because when you backed them, the taste is like chicken-meat. Laetiporus sulphureus is the name of this one (Famely of the Laetiporeae).
