Description

(Zoom or you will miss detail!) This is dedicated to my friend Phil Wilkes (PhilW) as it is the first Carrara scene built almost 100% using the techniques in his fabulous tutorial. This was the first scene that I did not feel as if I were fighting Carrara to get what I wanted, and in a fraction of the usual time, an absolutely liberating feeling. This simple scene was a test bed for a number of things, but primarily his lighting techniques. I altered his basic lighting instructions only very slightly so I could bleed a bit more light into the shadows, especially the little gated area. I rather like how it turned out. Thanks Phil!

Thank you so much for the dedi and I am delighted that you are finding the tutorials useful. Of course you SHOULD adjust things to suit your scene and make sure it looks "right" to you - there is no right or wrong way and a scene like this can be lit many different ways for a different feel - sunlight, overcast, sunset, moonlight...you have done a great job in this one! Nice use of props here too - I wonder what book she is reading...
