Description
This lava flow is a little more porous as compared to other flows I've seen on the costal plains. This picture was taken April 11 on the Pulama Pali, about 2 miles away from where the lava is now. The physics and chemistry of molten rock is pretty complex due to the wide variation in its composition. No simple answer. Aloha and thank you for viewing.

awesome sequence.......thanks
Fantastic texture in this one!!
amazing as always Errol!
Excellent shot. Alot of activity.
Look at that little fern growing so close to danger. Awesome.
I have the porous red and black lava, and I picked up some very heavy, sold and smooth lava in the Sonoran Desert a while back. It is amazing how different it can be.
I enjoy your shots so much. Lava has always fascinated me and your pictures really bring it to life for us.
Great work - the detail is superb.
Fantastic capture, as always! :)
Another great shot--you know how much I want to see this some day, it just fascinates me!!
Dramatic...as lava always is for me. Well done:)
Awesome render Hugs Susan~
Hot damn it! Look great
A wonderful capture again of this stunning molten lava.
Beautiful natural design with great internal lighting, awesome!
Nature is not always a spring flower as you let us see - One of the many faces nature can be ! Surreal for those of us who have never experienced -
the top center looks like it is giving you a raspberry tongue, a hot one at that
love these photos of lava
How the heck is that little green piece of whatever it is still green and not burnt to a crisp? I'm feeling the heat just looking at this. These really do make for some killer abstract shots as well as documentary; nice job combining the two. Very well done Errol! Take care!
This one is biting its lip.
Fantastic capture ! A living hell!
natural artwork in composition, textures and patterns! ;o)
