Thanks. Didn't know we had such mighty defences against our northern neighbors, er, or was it against someone else? Interesting, as it shows the fears and manner of thinking in the pre-world war one days.

Oh, like it...particularly the symetry which I know you typically avoid like the plague. LOL. The link adds a lot of great info I didn't know before and I am always reading little historical tid-bits about old time coastal artillery. For T.Rex above: These coastal defenses were one corner of a triangle of forts that were built to stop any invading ships no matter who they belonged to. These emplacements never fired a shot, except for target practice, but the Japanese and German Navies knew they were here and never gave any consideration to sailing anything into Puget Sound to threaten Seattle, WA or Vancouver, BC. Great job TK:)

This looks a lot like a place on Tybee Island, Georgia--but I didn't get nearly as good a shot as you did. In fact, there was a wedding party running along the top of it and I was more interested in trying to capture that, which I didn't do very well either!!

An excellent capture of a rather austre structure. It looks like the type of place where, late at night, you might here the ghostly echo of shouted commands and cannon fire.
This looks so utilitarian in nature that it can't help but be artsy! It's oddly "Communist" in that way, but I also think that the graffiti splotches add to that since so much of what was once Communist is now a stone canvas, so to speak, for graffiti artists with names like Honza or Stanislav, or well...Honza. I love this for that and for many other reasons. The geometry of this fascinates me as do the textures as seen from afar, and the colors...wow! Nice!
I love it. We have our own equivalents here that were mainly designed to keep the Russians out...who of course never came!
