Description
I want to give you an overview of our trip before I start with partial pictures of obscure, artsy things you can't identify. LOL! You've already seen Lake Crescent and the Hoh Rain Forest.
This is the Strait of Juan de Fuca, which is the border between the United States and Canada out here on the coast. Looking to the left and across the water you would see Vancouver Island and the city of Victoria, British Columbia ... assuming you could see that far.
If you look closely, you'll see a container ship on the horizon, far left.
I have no idea what Bill was taking a picture of, but this made me think of the shot he took of another Renderosity friend a few weeks ago entitled Surprise

Another fine shot of a very pretty area.
The celebrated cockney music hall performer Gus Elen sang a song entitled 'If It Wasn't for the 'Ouses In Between' which included the following chorus: Oh it really is a wery pretty garden And Chingford to the eastward could be seen; 'Wiv a ladder and some glasses, You could see to 'Ackney Marshes, If it wasn't for the 'ouses in between. You narrative reminded me so much of this and I can't find a performance on the web..bother! Bring on the trip!

So that's what the storied Strait of Juan de Fuca looks like....a fine foto, but I was always under the impression that it would be something more spectacular.

Ah, the famous Strait of Apostolos Valerianos! I've wondered about the name for years and you have prompted me to finally look him up. Juan de Fuca was a Greek who sailed for Spain under the name Juan de Fuca. He sailed up the western coast of North America from Mexico to Vancouver Island in 1592. This is probably what he saw. Not Bill,the beach.
