Description
I know...it is a rhododendron. Flower IDs are not my strong suit but after consulting with a close friend and googling some images, I know I got the name right:-)))
Found this bloom among hundreds of others on a very big bush in a cemetery yesterday.
Bill:)
P.S. My time on the computer may be sorely curtailed for the next couple of days...but I'll be catching up as I can.

Wow! Beautifully captured!
It is a mighty beautiful Rhododendron, Bill. Such a lovely light in it too.
A stunning shot - a great addition for anyone's gallery.
Stunning shot Bill
A beautiful Rhododendron.
Stunning picture, the Rhododendron always puts on a fantastic show this time of year and you have captured one at it's best!!
Firstly an amazing color Bill and the light is just perfect! I guess you learned flower photography from the best!! Hehehe... And yes - every gallery need one! Great work my friend! :)
And you got a gem of a shot for yours!! Pretty good teacher, too :))))) !!
What a vivid colour. Beautiful shot.
Wonderful detail in this shot; well done!
Beautiful colour Bill, rich but delicate colour!!!!
Cool shot, good composition!
Beautiful bright capture, well done!
Super pic! We had a pompous visiting judge at our camera club in the 80's who called all flowers daffodils and all animals rabbits. This lead to comments such as (about a spray of orchids) "My word this daffodils is a bit too fussy for my taste" and ( about a giraffe) "This rabbit is rather tall for this format". It was a harmless affectation which I found quite funny, but the men in my club(there were only 2 women) were appalled and vindictive toward him! ah well! He was called Ppfaff, another of those English names that aren't pronounced as they look, like Cholmondeley and Calquahoun. Anyway, Bill..this daffodil is a gorgeous shade of blue.
Wonderful capture, Bill! Good luck!
A fantastic spring capture....
Yep every gallery needs a flow and your flower is beautiful Bill.. Excellent capture my friend well done!!
Spectacular. Is this near Leavenworth?
Wow, Bill, this one just jumps right off the screen! Beautiful shot of this flower - and I do love purple!! Nice one, my friend!!
Tee hee! Love all the comments on this well lit, colourful capture. Well done, Bill! Clive
WOW BEAUTIFUL VIEW
great spring creation, very beautiful!
Tons of lovely mauve blends and shadows, along with super filaments and stamens, in this glorious floral capture, Bill. I was wondering what had happened to you, and your absence from the scene. Could this be the result of a Seattle hangover?
With a beautiful shot like this, you might want to fill your gallery with florals. :-)
As you noticed wisely, they usually grow as big bushes and that is why they always leave such a big impact on us !...this shade of purple (at least on my monitor) is exquisite, almost royal. A gorgeous display, to cheer up anyone's day. BB
Flowers really brighten up a scene, and I bet this one is a real eye catcher with these splendid blooms and yes it is a Rhodo.
Beautiful and vivid shot!
