Description
In the last day or so, I have seen at least a half dozen different Dragonfly species. Several of those have been new captures for me but this is one species I see almost every year.
Common Green Darners are found in every state and southern Canada. They are rather large - 3" more or less. They seldom perch so I was lucky to get this shot. These Dragonflies often gather in swarms to feed as they fly several feet above the ground.
