Description
Departure flight from Washington State. I am not sure which mountain this is but with the missing top, I'd guess this is Mount Saint Helens...I've only seen this mountain from the ground before. Many of you will remember Mt. St. Helens blew her top in 1980.
I refreshed myself on clouds putting this image together. Here's a link if you want to remember what they all are: Do you really want to know? Seriously?
Bill:)
P.S. I think Denise (MrsRatbag) is correct (see first comment below)...this is probably Mt. Ranier but all the mountains up there are really interesting:) Also, Denise lives up there...well, not up on Mt. Rainier, but you know what I mean. LOL

Wow, I love this...it could be Mt. Ranier too, when you get down to it (up to it?) most mountains have crags and missing bits up there. Great shot, Bill!
Bill, This is one fantastic image. I remeber when it erupted, it was incredible.
Love this...Great idea...Super Shot
Great Bill. I still have the National Geographic edition dedicated to the eruption.
You're flying high.....excellent shot!
Excellent aerial photo!!!
Very neat shot! Aren't window seats grand?!?!?! : )
Excellent capture!
I agree with Denise. It's not missing enough of its top to be St Helens. I'm sure it's Rainier. Very nice capture, BTW.
Man, that is one seriously GREAT photo, Bill! You're making me want to go buy airline tickets just to get some good photos. Yours are spectacular!
Wonderful capture!
Jip ... it's absolutely Mt. Rainier. Nooooooo doubt about it! :) Mount St. Helens looks like a pancake (relatively speaking). Rainier is 14,410 feet, and St. Helens is 8350(ish). (The one in the background on the left would be Mount Adams, in case you're interested.) Aside from all that ... this is a fantastic shot! The way the clouds are meeting there is really interesting. Glad you posted this one!
I love these kinds of fotos and this one is especially cool---no matter which one it is (though it seems the residents have spoken!)
Keen pic, Bill. CloudAppreciationSociety is a keen site for reference material and a jillion photos.

Always get a window seat and always carry a camera. I think that was from you. Breathtaking capture and info on the clouds. Dana

What a fantastic shot indeed. Those clouds look absolutely stunning. Well done Bill.
I suddenly have an urge to book a flight - anywhere - as long as I have a window seat! Great monotone, Clive
Great shot. I love being up there looking down.
Wonderful! Last summer I bought the met office book with a pic of each type..magic!
splendide photo!!
What a cool image Bill with the converging clouds!! Most amazing catch with Mt Rainier (as it turned out to be) proudly sticking out!
