Description
This panorama of Seattle's south side was taken as a single hand-held shot from the back seat of a moving airport shuttle van using a 12mm-70mm zoom lens and manual settings. I had tried it a month earlier with disasterous results (wrong shutter speed and aperture settings). Second time was the charm.
Several significant landmark buildings include Safeco Field (stadium on extreme left where the Seattle Mariners play baseball), Qwest Field (next stadium to the right where the Seattle Sea Hawks play football), the Space Needle with a rotating restaurant on top, and the 76 story tallest building in Seattle, The Columbia Center.
ZOOM worthy.
Bill:)

Great shot! I intend to drag Dave out that way and hit the whole coast someday.
Wonderful cityscape!!
Wonderful skyline shot on a beautiful blue sky day! Most amazing image dear friend! :)
Cool skyline and panorama....
Great pano..hope to see it this summer..going through Seattle on the way to Vancouver.. this years bike trip...
That is a great shot!
A great capture from the method you employed. Nearest I got to Seattle was Vancouver a few years ago.
What a fantastic view Bill. It is a very beautiful capture indeed. I like the trees in the forground. It gives a fascinating depth.
Would like a meal in the rotating restaurant. I love these shots, thanks Bill!!!!
great pano!! beautiful!! Flavia & Sandra (still in Prague ;-D!!)
Wow! This is a stunning panorama - well done, Bill! Clive
That is one heck of a shot from a moving vehicle! You're right - you just HAVE to see this one at full-size! The closest I've been to Seattle was Portland, OR. many years ago when I was a kid. Had an aunt & uncle that lived there (both gone, now). Such magnificent country up there in the north west. Awesome shot, Bill!
So many familiar sights here---this is a great shot, and even more amazing is you caught it on the move!!
Well caught!! I'm getting familiar with this place on the other side of the world!
superbe photo!!
I'm amazed you got this quality of shot handheld out of a moving vehicle. Great piece of work, Bill.
A really wonderful shot Bill
Great panorama!!
Totally zoom worth with so much to see.
this is wonderful to see this city like this. hope i get to go there one day.
I know just where you were when you took this. That's a great spot on the freeway for taking photos of the city ... as long as you're not driving!! :P Well done -- I'm glad you gave it another try -- this is excellent!
Fantastic shot Bill this is great for a single shot well done on getting it right with the second attempt!!
Holy mackerel, you really outdid yourself in this amazing panorama, Bill, especially considering the conditions you panned this view in! That said, I'm going to sit up close to the monitor and memorize the entire cityscape.
Excellent shot of the skyline!
A gorgeous scenic view indeed! I love all the details you've captured of such a wonderful place! Now I can say I understand why they're "sleepless in Seatle"... I would be too, if I could go on a journey to admire all these wonderful places! A marvellous composition Bill!!
Wonderful view. Somewhat changed since the last time I was there. Thanks for sharing.
Excellent detail and clarity in the Pano! Well done indeed.
This is, most definitely, a zoomer! What details and I love the panoramic scope of this. I love the clarity, the color, the whole sense of sleek, urban mood that remains clean and sleek. Great work.
Impressive for a moving shot...totally cool BIll. Lots of shapes and sizes over there....cool.
Great city-scape capture!
