Description

This one was just for fun and quite simple & fast to do - wanted to explore some material presets of Bryce 6 I never used yet, plus playing with lighting, and this is what came out of it. Nothing spectacular and probably a bit too much red here, but quite interesting imho, so I thought I'd share it anyway. Ships and mountain terrain have just one material - it's "Dreams of Xanades Lake" from the Effects/Celestial mats, scaled to 8000 and random setting. A big sphere with a modified atmospheric volume cloud mat makes the fog around the ships. There are 2 radial lights in this scene - one in the foreground is light absorbing for interesting effects on water (color) and sails, the other one in the right background lightens the peaks of the mountains. Sky is a modified "False Dawn" sky preset. The galleon model is from jotijoti (at ShareCG). All done in Bryce 6, minor contrast enhancement and signature in Picture Publisher. Thanks to both "Terrageners" and "Brycers" for all your kind / critical / encouraging comments on my last image "After The Rain" (Terragen)! And to especially the Brycers: I'll for sure never ditch Bryce, no matter which programs I'd love to explore besides it! I just love Bryce and I've just half-way explored all its capabilities yet. There are a couple of other programs I'd love to check out and work with though, such as Vue and TG2, but it's all a matter of time and - to be honest - of money as well! ;-) Comments, critics and suggestions are very much appreciated as always! P.S.: Sorry to all sailors here - I know that regarding the calm water, the wind in the sails is just a joke. But I didn't want to destroy the water reflections. And hey - it's all about fantasy! *g*

Fantasy indeed...you have created a wonderfully moody and haunting scene with just a few simple elements. The sky colors and atmoshperic effects are very effective and well done!! Great Work!!!
