Description
Namibia 2010
I was tempted to call this amazing sky #1 as I took so many sky pictures these past three weeks and will definitely post more in the weeks to come! Somehow there were just the most intriguing clouds in the sky almost every day.
This is still en route to our destination but already in Namibia between the towns of Usakos and Swakopmund - the start of the desert. I took this image while we were driving at 120km/h - this time through the side window... and was pleasantly surprized by the outcome.
Thank you for your comments and favs on my image of yesterday!
Stay well!
Hugs
Carin xx

Awesome sky shot!
Outstanding shot! The clouds are so fluid they look like they are dancing. And I really like the little bit of earth at the bottom to give it balance and contrast.
Quite simply, yes! Beyond Amazing... Beautiful.... I could watch in wonder for ages... Thank you... Rob
Lovely wisps, and a great shot!
Very beautiful capture erland
This gives me a feel for the countryside. Looks like lots of wide open spaces. Somewhat similar to our southwest...but with the ocean bumping right up to it:)
I love the whispy look of the clouds. It must have been a fun drive, with so much to see!
Excellent!
wow its gorgeous ...fantastic shot Carin !
Love the color of this bright blue beautiful sky The landscape also grabs you as well A fav with me I uploaded a new one too hope you drop by If you have already plz overlook this...so many has I have forgotten LOL Hugs Susan~
Very beautiful image. Those are Cirrus clouds. They're made of ice crystals that form high in the atmosphere (usually between 20,000 - 30,000 feet), where the high winds spread them out all thin and filmy like that. In the past people sometimes referred to them as "mare's tails" because they can look like a horse's tail. Sorry... I'm trained as a weather forecaster and that's the weatherman in me showing itself. It is truly a beautiful image - very pretty and relaxing looking.
Awesome job!
A beautiful sky. Love those wispy clouds!
A magnificent piece. Fantastic and beautiful capture !!! :)5* Hugs Karin :)
Beautiful photo; the clouds are feathery like ethereal birds, I love it!!
Mother Nature really does have a thing for dramatic skies, and you caught a doozie here! This is one of those sky shots one can just stare at for hours, finding all sorts of things as the mind lets go of mundane reality and wanders through the landscape/skyscape you've presented here. The blue is so rich and deep, despite the fact that pale colors are seldom considered "deep." I think it's the way the sky contains differing shades of blue, from pale-almost-white near the horizon to a deeper, darker blue up top. The scrub is a nice touch, it keeps the open, stark tone of the landscape in focus, but gives a kind of anchor for the eye that mimics the cloudscape. In short, this is a brilliant shot. I like it quite a lot!
Took the words right out of my mouth haha! Great clouds :)
