PERFECTION! I have just sent off for several Japanese (ensata) irises for my new bog garden!

The iris was probably my grandpa favorite flower. He had so many different varieties in his garden. It took me years to understand why and truly appreciate their beauty. Every time I see one now, I am reminded of his garden. Yours is exceptional, and I appreciate the pleasant memory I associate with it.

A beautiful iris complete with that inviting little road to a mysterious green castle and an eccentric little wizzard. I see evidence of your thoughtful selection of filters turning what you think of as a plain iris into a real showgirl. Reeeeealy nice work.

This is a wonderful bit of work. Irises are just as interesting as the borers that eat them...but then I would like fat, meaty grubs...they have an amusing habit of scaring mothers in their garden: as a kid, I always thought that Iris Borers were karma that struck a particular mother after administering disciplinary actions that were wholly unwarranted (in my opinion: "What do you mean I'm not supposed to argue with Sunday School teachers in front of class? Wrong is wrong, no matter who does it...and well...slander against ancient Egyptians shouldn't be tolerated!" She never saw my point. But its funny how big, fat, meaty vegetarians moved into her garden shortly after my television-viewing time was seriously curtailed.) Anyway, enough of that...I really like this shot and the way in which the yellow looks a bit like a landing strip for cargo craft of some sort. I can virtually hear some voice speaking in an insect language saying something like: "Welcome to Iris 1024...please surrender navigational control to docking computer..." Or something like that. Great work!
