The object the artist placed across Central America is a "long xistera". This is the traditional, woven basket with handle thingy used to play Jai Alai in Central America. That bit of trivia popped right out of my random acces memory after staring at your lovely collage for about a minute:) Sometimes it is amazing at what we all must have floating around loose in out heads:-))) Your individual photos all add up to give us an outstanding 360 degree view!

What a wonderful collage ot this amazing globe. The lighting is beautiful.

Very interesting set of pictures. When I first saw it, the support piece looked like some sort of creature leaning over to look at the globe. I love the shadows on that image and one the top and bottom center images. Terrific collage!

Ah the bias globe. this are really great shot and the collage is awesome and the day it was taken was totally awesome. We have to do that again, maybe this time we can all meet somewhere no one has been before and make it an epic ninja photography adventure. ( Wheels are a turning, Dave sees smoke)

WOW! I remember this and Chip and I still talk about that day. This is a very nicely done collage! Each part of it is perfect. Those colors are really crisp and clean. I still don't know what that Central American thing is.

Bill is right about that thingy, I think. I clicked the link because I can't resist clicking links. I love this collage. The colors are what really grab me. I was fascinated by that sort of deep-algae green that the globe has, as well as the bronze color peaking through. It looks positively ancient. Of course, as I looked at that thingy that Bill identified, I was going to tell you that it's a traditional butter knife from Ükür, but they're big in Central America because of the shoe trade that they have with Agara...which of course, ships shoes to Central America using Agaran cargo ships--many of which also carry archeological treasures to museums all over the world...but somehow the story of how butter knives Ükür get to Central America just collapses after that point. And perhaps that's a good thing. It sustains the mystery. At any rate, this is a great shot and I love the way it evokes so much of that brilliant Saturday!
