This is something that needs to be seen more in America, especially among the more disenfranchised--which is a HUGE part of the population! Most of it in fact, it seems. And having said that, I must also say how I love this post. It's wonderfully subtle and I love the message that doesn't come across like a boring, stupid sermon. Brilliant work, and I love the real hand-drawn quality of this! It's fantastic!

I love this! Beautiful simple lines and a rich deep meaning. I love that he sits in solitude, but you can feel that he is not really alone because he is surrounded by the words he is reading. As he reads the words, he gains knowledge with which he can build his future. Excellent work!
Hi Helle! Oh what a marvelous and powerful image this is! A brilliant work that shows the hope of the child. Its so sad that there are so many children who never learn to read, it was one of my favorite things as a child. Its the same as art, when you can travel thru words and pictures to places you have never been and it builds dreams and imagination along with knowledge, very well seen in this. I love this and I am sorry I am so late for so many of your works!
