Description
Captured 1/5/10, a bit after 8 AM, about a quarter of a mile from my anachronistic abode.
I was going to brighten the scene, but stayed with the stark contrast of the original instead.
Zoom for a far better view.
Ta, and have a nice day.

Zoom looks really good and I for one like the stark contrast...although I'll bet that is how it really looked at the moment of your click of the shutter. I have an unusual sky to post a little later today myself...then back to airplanes:)
So many contrails!! A lovely scene, I much prefer this to sunsets.
wow you got up eary. i need to so I can get photos of the sky and oil field stuff in them.
Beautiful sky :) Nice capture Harry !
I love the stark contrast Harry! I real beauty! Gosh - by 8am here you should be wearing sunscreen already!!! I cannot believe how dark it still is! :)
Nature funny sometimes. Looks like a house is burning. Great atmosphere.
As opposed to 'By Dawns Early Light'... A Great film..lol I don't think it needed any postwork .It looks just right natural... The stark colours (or lack of) look great! A fine shot.. Well done, Harry.. Rob
A beautiful sky you have captured here, nice work, happy Thursday!!
I love the title for this, it fits so perfectly! Its quite a lovely shot Harry! Those contrails drive me crazy! They are as thick here as the telephone pole wires! Hard to get a good shot of the sky with all that but its not bad in yours! The shape of the clouds with the sun peeking thru is superb!
The clouds look soft and beautiful against the blue sky. Love the rich glow of the sun through the clouds. The moody stark contrast in perfect!
