Description
After any storm, the beach is full of the most amazing things. Huge tree trunks, logs, just about anything. (once my son and a friend of his and I found an old oak chest. I bribed them each a dollar (they were REALLY young and a dollar was BIG!!) to haul it back to the truck, and I still have it, though most of it has finally rotted away. a fun memory in my garden!) This is some part of a madrone tree (madrona in Seattle, don't ask me why!!). It's a most beautiful tree, just as red as you see it here and they grow mostly along the rivers. I just love the twisted, gnarly look this one has.

nature can build amazing structures, great shot! RS
Oh this is a real treassure Marilyn!!! What a gorgeous stump! Great find and capture!!!
I've just been watching the terrible storms you guys have been having on the news. I love a good bit of flotsam!
fantastic capture!
She looks like a fairly well-built dancer! Fab compo!
I thought this was mahogany! I think its that color. If you made furniture out of this it would be very expensive! I like the light a lot, you really caught it like it must have looked without a camera pointed at it. Those colors are nice too; that red is rich. Funny, it reminds me of brandy. It's smooth too, and the best brandy is always smooth.
Lovely shot of this trunk Marilyn well done!!
Holy mackerel, that looks exactly like the imitation crab meat (pollock) that you buy in the supermarket (pun intended)! Otherwise, sterling colors, clarity, lighting effects and textures in this fabulous foto, Maz!
I LOVE THE LOOKS OF IT TOO, YOU SHOULD TAKE A PICTURE OF THE TRUNK,I WOULD LOVE TO SEE IT.GREAT STORY TOO.
love the earth tones in this
WOW! That wood is almost the color that Polish women dye their hair once they move to Chicago. It's a gorgeous color for wood though, especially when it's natural. I love those patterns that indicate a fibrous structure, and the light is really crisp and clean. This shot rocks. Or as Exeter would say, Thith shot rockth.
stunning !! excellent lighting
Wonderfully done, and thanks for the information on the tree!
Fantastic texture ... so smooth! We call 'em Madrona trees because that's what they ARE! LOL!
This madrone was minding its' own business growing beside it's river when suddenly a torrent came and washed it downstream into the Pacific and here it is!!! Fascinating...
Beautiful grain and color.
Wow, thats beautiful! Funny I have seen the Madronas in Seattle but sure don't remember that gorgeous color! Love the shape!
