Description
California Quail, white-crowned sparrows and dark-eyed juncos forage.
This is one of my test render and mental health breaks from updating my Songbird ReMix model to version 3. For what's improved use this URL... http://www.empken.com/SongbirdReMix/building a better quail.JPG
I guess I should give (as it's traditional with me) some bird facts so here it goes...
The California quail lives in coveys of 10 to 200 birds in the winter. They will stay in these flocks until they pair off during mating season. Male California quails will perch on a tree or post and call out to claim their territory and will also stand guard watching vigilantly for predators. The scientific name "Callipepla californica" is thought to be derived from Greek "Kallos" = beauty + "peplos" = robe, and of course "californica" refers to the primary range.
Rendered in Poser Pro with minor postwork (none to the birds). Models: Most plants (RDNA), birds (Me)

Lookin' great Ken!
Great bird render, What a nice find! Im going to put you down as a Fav Artist.
A good composition, Ken. With both Scottish and British weather being decidedly chilly for the past month or so, it is no wonder that the wee birds have sought cover. From the detail, the new version models and textures etc., are well worth having. Good work on the redesign, my friend. Now all I need is the time to render... ;o) Warm regards, from a chilly Glasgow, John.
wonderful work! RS

An amazing scene! So realistic & well done!
Very nice work!
Ken, I don't know how you can make so many beautiful and high quality birds. I have trouble just converting them for Vue. I can't keep up with you and you're doing all the hard work. Thanks for that. These are wonderful birds I look forward to the new version.
extraordinary!
