Description
this is a bridge designed and being built in Italy.it crosses the third worst polluted river in Texas.no surprise that Houston ship channel is #1. it is a continuation of Woodall Expressway and goes to an industrial area that is on it's last leg and probably responsible for a good part of the pollution. a former lead smelter caused a massive clean up of many blocks of land and attributed to poisoning of many children

COOL CONSTRUCTION, GORGEOUS AND INTERESTING CAPTURE !

Very interesting shot and information! Well done.
Interesting info., Richard. Nice shot of the bridge.
wow lest hope they spend as much on river cleanup :-)
very interesting shot
Fantastic shot! Excellent work as usual!
Whoa! I remember leaving Houston circa 1983 never to return. Thanks for the wonderful photo and reminder to stay in Tucson. LOL Well done.
Interesting construction scene. Sad info about the river though. Great photo about how destructive man can be to his environment.
great shot Richard!
Wow, quite a story. This sounds like a bridge too far:) Fine photo to illustrate your point.
well, seems a bridge to no where is in style these days ;) rankles me when i hear about pollution like you described...the people responsible for this behavior should be treated as criminals and sent to jail for a very long time--put into a chain gang to clean up the mess they created...ok, off my soap box ;) very interesting capture though...
Interesting! Kind of like an Erector set.
Interesting, but horrid history!
So sad about the pollution.. Interesting story..
I find it fascinating to watch a bridge being build. Interesting shot. Aloha
Wonderful photo site, and magnificent example of lack of aesthetics in certain industrial architecture!
Good shot. Well done.
Interesting shot, dear Richard. Excellent photo. Hugs for all day, Diane. xx
Excellent shot and interesting informations.
really interesting with the link Richard, and great shot and perspective
COOL SHOT
'They' seem to do this sort of thing all over the world as this looks like some of ours. Where have the beautiful bridges gone?
whew...you captured it as a big structure with noplace to go, even though it's still being built. It seems all very drowsy, which accentuates the feeling of the uselessness of the area & its impending doom. Some industrial landscapes broadcast 'end of the world' in a very bleached, hazy way: This is one of those landscapes, and you caught that very feeling, a place you'd like to avoid more because it looks so lifeless than because its obvious danger. The bridge comes to symbolize futility, even though it's being built. A bleak drowsy vision of industrial America. Very fine work.
Great documentary Richard!
One hopes that cleanup of this area will happen soon. It's a crime to allow such pollution to remain untouched. As was mentioned, an excellent piece of photojournalism.
All in the name of progress, outstanding capture!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great take and detail
