This is a definite zoomer! I saw all three of you! Marilyn and Mark right by the stairs and you just to the right of them. I aslo saw the handprint!! I love this thing - it is so much fun!! Great image my friend! :)

Yes, I see all! (A fairly sweeping statement, but you know what I mean) Wonderful image! I love the building on the left which seems to be thrusting out its chest in pride. It is very interesting the way different buildings are effected. One burst with pride, another curves it lines in indecision and a third has very irregularly shaped windows. Fascinating stuff and definitely to be seen on zoom. The hand print and Lynn's comment reminds me that I saw it being cleaned. This was mostly unfortunate as it limited my movement around it, but it was interesting. I took some shots, but they are on film. Someday, maybe I'll get one on rr.

Really nice. Reflections are fascinating, and I always get them somehow. I think that the distortion really pops out of this. It looks like somebody left a giant glob of mercury in Grant Park. That's a good thing (Actually Chip said that Mercury thing, but then he's looking over my shoulder, so he would.) This rocks. I like the clarity and the way that everybody is here. I see three people in this shot I recognize and it's like I'm right there with you all! I'm going to remember that weekend for a long time. This is a great shot! It makes me feel warm to see it.

Ok, I see you, I see me, I see marilyn, I see the bird, I see a "taste eat enjoy" sign and I see William Shakespeare, Vincent van Gogh and Miles freakin' Davis. But I don't see the handprint! (You sure you're not playing games with us?) Wait! I see it! Ok. You're off the hook! I was gonna be prettttttty pissed off if I had to sit here till April looking for the little ____. Rest rest, perturbed spirit, I found the handprint. ('Rest rest perturbed spirit' is from Hamlet. He likes the bean too.) The key thing, however, is that it's another of your wonderful 'bean' shots with that high saturation white, the hints of blue in the upper bean, and a wonderful weird undulating version of Chicago, below. Another fine vision of this strangest of all Chicago phenomena, and the light is just the best. (* the "upper bean" is a region in northern Peru. That's not very funny. Ok forget it. Ya can't be funny all the time...)

I love Mark's Upper Bean comment because of a reference to a potato shaped region of France I'd heard while visiting with Corey and his roommate, Neil. Neil has this thing for France (and romance.) Corey has a thing for cars, especially muscle cars. I'm trying to get him to scan some of his drawings. Anyway, enough of that. What I really want to say is that I love this photo. I have so many of the bean and I haven't felt compelled to post them. A couple are from exactly the same perspective as yours, give or take a step or two in one direction or another, but there's just something about YOUR shots. I guess the Bean seen from non Chicago eyes is the Bean seen with some of the added details and strange thingamabobs that Chicagoans miss. At any rate, this is a top notch photo with three of my favorite people in it. That's even better. I can't find the hand print though, but if I shift my focus and pretend I've gone interdimensional or something, I can see Victor and Corey and Pavl in there, and yeah...Pavl would be the one smoking and looking strangely disinterested in everything while at the same time being totally engaged. Needless to say, I love this work, and I can go on and on about loopy Czechs, quiet Russians, and Car-Geek Americans, but I'll just say that this image rocks. Cool beans...well...at least ONE bean.
