Description
Chip, you have lifted me high with your sitemail message today! Thank you dear friend. As a direct result of your words of encouragement I have decided to decide... if that makes sense??? This is for you!
The image was taken at Cape Cross in Namibia and postworked in CS4. Cape Cross on the Skeleton Coast is marked by two things - one of the largest seal colonies in the world and these crosses. They are both in honour of the Portuguese Sea farer, Diego Cao who landed at this spot in 1486. I will post some of the seals later!
Thank you all for popping in and for your valued comments and favs on my upload of Walvis Bay yesterday.
Stay well!
Hugs
Carin xx

Stark but powerful capture. B&W works for this shot and bring on the seals. Dana
This is lovely; elegant and serene, and a really dynamic shot!
Man alive...this is very good. Like yesterday's upload of Walvis Bay, this has a softness to it that just draws me right in. Now, the rocks aren't soft but they are barely visible allowing the eye to go right to the crosses and the low, puffy clouds. Composition is spot on IMHO.
This is wonderful, a huge vista with a very personal feel!!
very artistic composition, wel done in b+w! RS
wonderful mood! Great picture!!!!
Bella immagine forte della sua semplicita' ! E di bei toni B&W ! Nice strong image of his simple ! And beautiful tone B & W!
Print it on fibre-based paper and frame it... A must! Clive
What a beautiful dedication for your friend :-)
A brilliant composition!!
Fantastic shot!
Hard to think in 1486 someone stood there, looks very remote!!!!
Clive is right! It will make a marvellous large print!
Beautifully done in B&W gives it such great atmosphere, excellent work!!
A great atmospheric picture.
Beautiful artistic picture!
Sometimes formulating a goal brings the necessity for a plan and once a plan is in motion, completion takes place. Feeling complete is the most valuable feeling we can obtain and brings serenity and happiness. Self-worth comes from achieving your goals. It all starts with making one decision and acting on it. :-) Lovely shot.
TERRIFIC SHOT AND MOOD!!!!!
F A B U L O U S !!
Fantastically beautiful shot!
very simplistic beatuy ! its beautiful my dear :)
I like it. Carin Lift your head and shoulders. Yes there is many potholes on the road that wants us to be without hope, but we must stand up and continue on the road. I am glad you got such a message of hope from Chip. As i am glad that you are feeling better Carin. God Bless
Fabulous black and white image. The effect is probably deliberate but they look like two sentinels watching over the sea perhaps waiting for the good captain to return? I didn't know you were feeling down. I hope things are better for you.
Spectacular view! I like the black and white choice and the point of view with a large space for the sky!
Splendid B/W! :)
I agree with the other comments, this would make a beautiful framed picture. awesome!
very beautiful!!!
You SEALed it tight with this fine black and white image, Carin.
Chip always deserves our celebration: A lovely vision for his deep sensitivities...Your large looming sky is just right for a shot like this, and the darkening towards the top makes it heavier than ground itself. The crosses stand in lone desolation, and speak to the ages...A fitting message for Chip, who does the same. And a dark silken photograph as well...
What a wonderful image. This is gorgeous! Aside from our friendship, Dierbaar, you are just the most phenomenal photographer!
