Description
The 40th Infantry Division Band of the California National Guard, captured 10/25/09, at the 8th Annual Wings Wheels Rotors & Expo, held at the beautiful Joint Forces Training Base (JFTB) in beautiful Los Alamitos, California.
Better viewed full size.
The final pics I am posting of this august group, led by a no-nonsense female band leader/drill sergeant, who some also label as a majorette.
They are shown here receiving instructions and going through their paces before stepping out to march around the grounds in a military manner.
"Let's give them a good show, men...and ladies!"
Tally-ho, and thankx for the visit.

Lots of talented young me, what more can I ask!
Excellent and interesting shots. I suppose, it's very hot there.
Follow the band and the band follows the music...that music will find listening ears and turn mouths into smiles. :-) great shots:-)
An "august group" in "October"? I know, pretty lame. But I do know why they didn't play music. Notice the date is the 25th of the month. They had already blown all their quota of notes for the month. They had to wait for November 1st and a new quota. It is just the way things are now...budget tightening and all:-)))
Evidently they have the marching bit down really well...but the music lessons haven't started yet..:)
Nice clean shots Harry. Like a kind of story telling frames. Good job. Nothing wrong when girl leads a pack...lol.
awesome shots Harry, I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Excellent captures, and collage!!
Another good collage Harry :)
nice shots...
C'mon O'lboy, you can tell us. Did you use the bicycle in your avatar to keep up with these guys?
Nice collage of these music-withholding musicians!
I seem to remember staying there when it was a Navy Base.
And why not a lady drum major... The bands in the UK are normally led by a really scary huge Sergeant Major! Who will rip your guts out and use them for shoelaces if you get it wrong! Great pictures Harry!! And Sun ....look!! Rob
