Description

There's always a risk hunting asteroids in the dust and debris of a flare-star, but the payoffs can sometimes make it worth the dangers... This is revisiting my asteroid-prospector mark 2 ship, which I really like so I'll probably keep dabbling with this design. The ship was modeled, textured and rendered in Bryce 6. Design and modeling entirely by me, and the textures are a mix of my own and presets. The asteroid is actually 5 different renders with mostly preset textures, which were combined in Photoshop when I created the background and nebula effects. Thanks for taking a look everyone, and comments/suggestions and critiques are definitely welcome. I'd especially like to hear what you think would make this better, or what just doesn't work for you. Your feedback makes me better at this, so fire away.

Oh, I really like this! The details are amazing, as is the use of light/shadow. You put so many details into this and I willingly lost myself exploring this when I zoomed to full size. Brilliant work!

Nice engine flares and materials. And nebula. Can't really recommend anything to change. Maybe add some running lights?

Great pic!! The only thing I could say that may make it better is adding a little depth effect between the ship and the nebula, which would make the rear of the ship slightly disapear in the nebula's volume...
