Description
Captured 10/6/09, early in the AM, within walking distance of my reactionary residence.
Tunde really likes this kind of stuff.
The sun was low on the eastern horizon when I snapped these beautifully colored and textured textures. In fact, I made trips on two separate mornings just to shoot as many of these knots as I could. I have no idea what kind of wood it is, but it was rough and sure ain't pine, which is the norm around here when it comes to knotty fences.
Toodles, and thankx for the visit.

These used to totally amaze me as a kid...they can be the masterpiece of someones work or the hell in someones work...lol Awesome shots!
I'm quite fond of these myself. Interesting shots.
Oh, I do love what I see here Harry! Wonderful honey color and a different cracks in the knots are great too. They looks like little symbols...lol.
Mmm, cedar perhaps? Great color and texture to these!
cool capture...
Great knotty pictures. Our fence has knots like those.
A wonderful study in texture and warm colors. Each knot just a wee bit different and lovely.
I am thinking cedar...I floored a deck with it that lasted 20 years...but it will turn gray after a year or two. Well done Harry.
Wonderful texture and rich colors in this wood Harry! The soft light adds to the beauty! Well done! :)
Am thing Cedar Harry..have a deck made of the stuff..but without all the knots..
Wonderful captures! The first one has a pattern of the outline of an axehead on it. Pretty appropriate for cut wood.
so simple and yet fascinating witnesses of natures beauty, Harry, well done!
