After the initial meeting the the king from the neighboring kingdom, some formal trade agreements were drawn up for review and approval. The young king (see previous render) was very optimistic about reaching some kind of formal agreements to open up trading between the two countries. But there was one obstacle that still needed some attention. The neighboring king took offense at the Viceroy showing up wearing a coat instead of showing off his chest, as the young king had done. It was taken as an insult. So, to try and make amends, the Viceroy tries to offer the neighboring King his choice of two very rare ponies, a couple of varieties that are raised in the young King's country. The Viceroy shows up outside the castle in an open field where a meeting has been arranged between him and the other King. The other King brings along one of his Palace guards, who is still incensed over the insult of the non-bare chest. The Viceroy, now with a bare chest, leads the horses up to the King and his body guard and asks him, which one would you like? The King is a just a bit devious and asks, 'you mean I can choose any one?'. 'Yes!', says the Viceroy. 'Then I choose you!' says the King. 'It is you or no deal on trading between our countries!' The Viceroy is astounded at this demand and totally taken off guard. The young King was watching from a distance. When word of the other King's demand reaches him, he says, 'No way!' But the Viceroy gets over to him and pursuades him that perhaps some arrangement can be made. Perhaps the other King only means to have the Viceroy's service for a short time.
