Description
Used for pumping water from a farm well. Windmill blades are in the off position.
Far fancier than the normal run of the mill windmill.

Thought maybe it was some high tech new design...but it is a functional off switch....
Wow...very unique and interesting.... Well done Bill....!!!!
sure is fancy alright great compo
great photo!
This is quite coy ... a fan dance, hiding the mechanism which makes it work. The US Patent office provides the same sort of cover ... abstracts, but no drawings. You KNOW I want to know!! LOL!
That is fancy, great shot!!
What a stellar windmill! Fabulous find and great look at it.
Wow, an abstract windmill, I love it, and I love the B&W!
Beautiful catch my friend. Cheer and mile Very clever mercies like pump ((5++)) Belle prise mon ami . Bravo et mile mercis Très ingénieux comme pompe ((5++))
Brilliant Bill! I am sure the farmer's efforts are not in vane.... Cheers, Clive
It never occurred to me there could be an 'off' position! Most interesting!
I,ve seen a ton of wind mills never one like this, excellent capture!!
What next - designer windmill blades... what do you know! Most interesting and a great find and capture Bill! :)
That's really cool! Nice shot. :)
Great piece of machinery, don't see these over here.
wonderful stuff!!! the windmill and the capture!!
Nice shot Bill! Love the treatment!
Excellent photo. The "basket" design evolved as a possible solution to the problem of run-away rotors with conventional bladed mills (Aeromotor and Dempster). As wind speed picks up, and if the governing tail vane fails (a too common occurrence), the conventional rotor spins ever-faster creating massive precession forces strong enough to tear down the tower. Twenty mph wind can do it.
Very cool and quite interesting Bill:-)
Super shot. Wonderful windmill.
a interesting object! great shot!!!!
Never seen such a mill.... thanks for sharing, Bill !!!
that is very different ..you captured it well in b & w
Great photo and information from Drac - I was wondering about the design, especialy considering the cost of blades and the considerations of balance.
Wow, how inventive and practical can you get? What a fantastic conclomeration of equipment...the blades themselves look like venetian blinds. I like the horse on the opposite end getting ready to jump.
superlative 'artwork' !!! and a grand capture!
first time to see such. outstanding shot
Ooh wow, this is a very fancy windmill and a great shot.
This is very interesting as is the info added by drace. It's very pretty too. Wonderful capture! It looks great in B&W!
REALLY COOL
