Description
It's easy to put southern California down--traffic, people, rudeness, the list goes on and on. But this is why people are here, the coastline goes on forever. Folks stay at the beach till the last moment, taking it all in. Watching, walking, playing, talking and something about this foto has that feeling. I lived here for a long time, and it took years to be able to appreciate what it has to offer. No, I wouldn't want to live here again (unless I had a house ON the beach--like that's gonna happen!!), but I can sure enjoy these kinds of days immensely!!

Beautiful scene and shot!
Oh rub it in!!!! Yikes... Gorgeous sunset and wonderful to see all the activities going on on the beach! Stunning Marilyn! :)
excellent scene
Such gorgeous colours and the people on the beach in different poses really makes this a wonderful image Marilyn! Superb capture!
beautiful capture
Oh yes, i can relate to this!!
Great work, I think you've captured the southern California beach ambiance superbly.
Love it too...the setting sun, ships out at sea, people walking past, waves along the shore, changing tide...most of my experience is on the east coast, but there's nothing better than a sandy beach...east or west.
When I lived down there I was only 2 blocks from the beach and every morning I took the dogs down and sat on the ice plant-covered hill above the sand. My brother-in-law surfed before heading to school and I'd stay until the sun got high in the sky. I was back on the hill over the sand by 5:30 each evening watching the surfers and other dog walkers. It was a great way to start and end the day. Great shot but it also reminds me that there really is not much privacy on those southern California beaches.
Is there any place MrsLubner hasn't lived or been? And thank you for not including me in your list of Southern California putdowns, at least not by name. Anyway, stellar silhouetting of the foreground and stratification of the waves in this nonpareil shot, Maz! And, finally got my ebots back to working order!
Would really be nice to be one of the lucky (or rich) few that can live near this type of environment...
excellent picture!
Superb sunset shot.. Oh to have a place by the beach.. except if there is a tidal wave.. lol well captured Marilyn..

It is so tragic that you have to put up with these sorts of sunsets — you need to come to Alberta!
