Really cool shor Dana! It must have been really hot inside one of those. :)
fascinating ! I love all your London photos :)
Another good shot. Think of how it would feel to fall off your horse wearing a steel suit:)
It's the poor horse I feel sorry for - even they had to wear heavy protective metal. If you saw this you will have seen "The Line of Kings" as in our posting back in May. It's a fascinating place to visit and all your pics show it off well. Well done and thanks for the memories.
Can you imagine having to wear this heavy attire... Gosh - at the 30C temp we have here at the moment - I think NOT!!! Nice one Dana! :)
Wow, great shot!
Those where the days when two sides met in a field & battled it out!!!! Great pic.
Daver2112 and Meisikind are on the right track, just think what it is like inside that armour if the enemy is late or does not turn up and a crane is needed to get you off the horse to visit the bathroom which did not exist anyway, also you have a hangover from all that liquid courage you drank the night before! Then came the very first practical application of democracy when some pieces of wood, string, glue and feather were married to a few ounces of iron to become the longbow. Then all that impressive tin became redundant until corned beef.
Cool shot!
FABULOUS! great shot
could you image how heavy that armor is ...great shot!
knigths in shinning aromor. cool shot . were the lady that need help now?

How on earth did he get on his horse let alone get off?? An excellent shot
wow! impressive armory! and did not see horses with armory like this! stunning! ;o)
We have have the same kind of armories, at Les Invalides, in Paris.
You realise how much shorter they were in those days when you see these suits.
