I stopped yesterday at a store and saw these clouds and grabbed a few shots.good I did because when I came out they were gone.first time for me to see such a formation. if there are any metallurgists among the crowd here, they can identify them

I'll be! I saw the exact same thing this past weekend and had no camera with me at the time. but I'd never seen this ripple pattern before and I just had to stare. Really outstanding shot of them.

Fantastic capture of this unusual clouds. They are formed by cold air layers in the stratosphere or so.
