Description
Captured 9/10/09, around 8 AM, within the confines of my condominium complex.
The second photograph of waterdroplets from an early morning sprinkler system shower. I wish it was from rain, but that's such an extremely rare occurrence around here that I gotta do with what's given me.
A full size view would be of great benefit.
Another sign of advancing senility: I finally remembered that what keeps the droplets adhered to the leaves even while in a vertical mode is called surface tension.
Incidentally, recent climatic reports indicate that an El Nino system is currently developing in the Pacific Ocean, so, possibly, just possibly, we could get substantial rain activity around our drought stricken area this coming winter. Maybe even floods. Since nature is capricious, only time will tell.
Ta-ta, and tallyho.

Oh I love these images with the droplets Harry... The shadows cast by the little magical jewels are wonderful! Another stellar image! Well done! :)
Great picture. Nature is next door all you need to do is isolate upon the image. Lighting is really neat.

I like the long shadows on each drop!
The way the light hit these water drops look super cool Harry! Excellent shot!
love that water on this
What a wonderful capture. Love the waterdropps and a shadow they cast on the fressh green leaf.
And also a plethora of precipitation.....great shots Harry....
Your walks net some fine photos. Wild fires nowhere close to your place?
great capture...
Lovely again! I love the brightly lit centers to the shadows!
Nice droplets....I do hope you get some much needed rain but not floods.
Did you Scotch Guard this, befor you set up your camera O'lboy? Fabulous capture my friend, I like it.
I'm with Andrea, it's the shadows of the water drops that grab me, although the water drops themselves are marvelous on their own. It does seem almost miraculous that they stick to the leaf so nicely! Great shot!
Yes, the same tension that allows water to bulge over the top of a glass and not spill. And then, when you tap it, it breaks and spills over the edge. In this shot, the tension must be complete because the drops adhere, and the shadows are really beautiful. The light & shadow are such that they almost look like a separate layer blended into the leaf (as in Photoshop), even though I know they are completely natural. Fine work with light. And another nice solo shot.
Rain is cool... So very, very cool indeed! Just as cool as the other shot my friend! Well done.. Rob.
Really very neat, no matter how the water got there!! Great info. Thank you for the physics lesson!
