Description
In honor of the Hubble Space Telescope's debut of its new and improved camera, I decided to play once again in Photoshop, and do my own, Hubble-inspired, space scene.
This is built entirely within Potoshop cs3, and I used a combination of a heavily-altered Glitterato-plugin, and the render-clouds filter, and several pictures of actual clouds to build this scene. I wanted something that just might "pass" as a Hubble shot, but isn't actually one.
The scene is a dying star buried in a nebula, in it's final days.
If you want to see some of what inspired me, take a look at these:

Incidentally, that last link "Astronomy Picture of the Day" website is a must for anyone who loves space, and wants to have some space-scenery in their work. You'll see the most amazing things you never even dreamed were possible, and be inspired more than your heart can bear. At least I am, anyway...
Thanks for taking a look, everyone, and let's keep NASA out there pushing our dreams just a little bit further every day!

This pic is wonderful! The nebula, the lights, the remains of the dead star... Really great!
Very nice! Great colors and variation in density. It really looks like a close-up from deep space. (Only reason it looks like a scene from deep space instead of a Hubble picture is that the Hubble one would probably have some foreground stars in it.)
This is a fantastic astronomical study. I'm reading a novel "Omega" by Jack McDevitt which features deadly clouds that aren't as spectacular as this. This is a fantastic "shot." It's worthy of anything that Hubble is capable of capturing and in many ways it looks as if you've commandeered that telescope and took pictures of something more interesting than some of the things it does send back. This is great work! I love it. AND I have to catch up...that's normal though, and I should be able to do so soon!
Wonderful space image..very well done! :)
nice image...
Great image! When the Hubble astronomers run out of things to view, sent them this image. It could pass as real.
Nicely done!
COOL!
EXCELLENT. Your stand alone space scenes are so, so good.
Wonderful space nebula and mood!!!
Really nice image. Great colours and lighting! Excellent work.
AWESOME....TAKE A LOOK THIS: HUBBLE SITE
