Description
Alaska. No, it is not melting. Matter of fact, very few glaciers in Alaska are melting. The state feels badly slighted when the "Lower 48" (and the rest of the world's) news stations and "scientists" claim the opposite. A glacier, like much in Nature, has ebb and flow. They grow at a certain time, then receed. Naturally. The net is a gain for nearly all glaciers in the state. A very few are actually experiencing a net shrinkage. Those are the ones that the Nutters focus upon, and it riles the state's good citizens. Oh, polar bears can indeed swim. Great distances, too. The Polar Bear population is increasing, not going extinct. (I already knew they could swim, having seen them do so several times before this trip. Saw it again this holiday.)
The glacier looks...is...dirty because it is "shrink" stage, and it's been warm.

How incredibly beautiful .. and powerful. We have glacial valley's here but the glacier's themselves are long gone.
Cool, weather as well as the image..
Interesting to see other areas. Excellent capture!
Well there is news and there is facts and one should never confuse the two as being related. Nice photography!
Beautiful scene and I know what you mean. Here they send news teams to cover the melting ice in Summer, go figure!
Maybe in Alaska, my friend.. But unfortunately, not the rest of the world... The dirty Ice, I had heard about before, but not seen... So, thats cool... This is a wonderful shot, no matter what... Rob.
Una scena molto bella
Oh wow! this is really beautiful place and view and this is amazing shot!!
Nice landscape and shot.
Lovely image super capture!! unfortunatley the so called "global warming" is political now its past the scientific stage, (Hence the meeting of world leaders right now on this subject) there are so many "scientist" now making a fortune out of this "Global warming glasshouse effect" that if the truth was known there would be billions of dollars that the so called "scientist" would loose... Its a great grave train!! And they have sucked in so many good people!! It ties in also to the mother nature, mother earth worship religion also!!
A very interesting shot, our glaciers here are receeding definitly to an amount never seen before and cause some rockslides also never seen before
Wonderful image - I have a photo nearly identical to yours: I must have been standing in nearly the same spot LOL! I love Alaska and the tough can-do people that live there. Thanks for sharing!
