oh forgive me for getting behind how could i miss this treasured work ?!!! brilliant and masterfully done !!!
spirit horses is the right title, because they truly come out of spirit through the dreamcatcher's skin, and in your usual way of capturing the undulations & furrows of an animal in motion, they seem to be made of wind as much as of flesh. One sees their hues, but you've used less saturated versions, as if light had entered into them and bleached out some of their corporeality, making them all the more spirit. And there are points where their forms meld into movement & light itself, as if they're dissolving back into the wind from which they came. The largest horse (right side) has a fierce gaze that cuts through the piece. And your background—around the d.c.—is one of your usually articulate (not flat) areas of undulating space. The palette is consistent, and the feel is of flame-like of horses galloping through the membrane of the real world...powerful & very sensually done.
