Description
As I had alluded to in earlier photos from my recent Colorado trip, shooting conditions were not my favorite this time. There were two forest fires in the near vicinity, and it was just hazy all around.
In THIS case, however, I actually liked the morning sun casting its rays through the peaks and creating what we call in Terragen "raycasting." Cool and unretouched. :)
What you're seeing is Mt. Abram, across the face of which the "Million Dollar Highway" runs. You can see this highway, U.S. 550, snaking its way up the canyon in the center of the photo.
Sans fires, the morning would be a crisp, 39-degree, clear day. With all the atmospheric stuff, it completely changes the mood. Oh, well, we take what we're given.
