Description
I guess this one is technically a Poser piece, but then again it's also very much a Maya/Zbrush piece as well. The goblin and all his clothing were originally modeled in Maya, finished and textured in Zbrush, then rigged for Poser. The figure was then posed and everything exported from Poser to Zbrush where some further refinements were made. A lot of folks like to post work a Poser render, but I actually thought it would be cool to post work an actual mesh from Poser inside Zbrush then do the rendering in passes from Zbrush. So, this is the result: about 9 layers of rendering out of Zbrush, all composited in Photoshop, then the background and some foreground tweaking was done in Photoshop as well. A fun exercise in bouncing between apps. -Les

looks goblinolicious! good work!!
Great looking character. Wonderful outfit.
I gotta say, I'm stunned, this looks freaking fantastic, right down to the fur trim on his sleeves. Excellent work on this character, clothes and the scene overall. Is this version the same as the one available for sale, or did you keep the one spruced up in ZBrush for yourself?
Thanks a lot! What you see here is the result of going from Poser back to Zbrush and reapplying everything that ships with the released packages in there. So technically, it's exactly what you get when you buy the stuff, though it's been taken back to Zbrush. It was really an experiment to see how effective a workflow it might be. Typically, in our studio, it's a one way street: Maya to Zbrush to Poser. But lately I've been tinkering with a few things like starting with zSphere modeling in Zbrush, going to Maya with that, then back to the normal pipeline. With this, I just thought that maybe it would be neat to take something from the very end of the line back a step to see what kind of results one could get. I know a lot of Poser users have adopted Zbrush for various reasons, but I thought this might spur some folks to try things in a different way. I think it's very important that you never allow yourself to stagnate with your tools. Mix things up. Try changing up the order of how you do things and sometimes you'll be amazed at how many new tricks and techniques your artwork will gain from it. -Les

Thats imo the best character you have modelled up to date. I love it, and i think i will love it for a long time... Btw, the render is fabulous, the postwork and expression suits perfect the image and gives the feeling of sneaky and dangerous.
