Description

Chiricahua’s Pinnacle Balanced Rock is a boulder weighting hundreds of tons, balanced on the pedestal boulder below. To get this shot I had to leave the hiking path and wish I had caught a person, in the photo, to give you all a perspective of the massive size of the top boulder. Although, I am showing you the beauty of this place, I mean no disrespect to the Apache Nation that held on to their sacred grounds, until Geronimo surrendered in 1886. They were the last Indian Nation, forced to give up their homeland, to be relocated to a reservation. Some info from the National Park Service. Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous comments. Dana

These always amaze me; and I have visions of Chevy Chase leaning against one and causing it to topple! Great capture, I'm glad you left the trail and got this shot.

Wow, that looks precarious Dana. I know just what you mean about not being able to find your photos. I have so many photos in albums and loose, and I am too lazy to go through them and scan them.
