Description
Like everyone else I was trying to get photos of the killer whales. They stayed slightly ahead and to starboard of the 'Star Princess' while we were cruising north in the Tongass Narrows. This picture was taken from deck 14.
Deck 14 was ideal for observing the scenery because one could easily go from side to side and almost the entire length of the ship without difficulty.
This picture was taken on 26 May 2009. Zoom will bring you a little closer.

Another good tip for cruising. This must have been a thrill.
Talk about a bum rap. LOL They are not really killers nor are the actually whales. Fortunately most of us know this so we are not unreasonably frightened away from enjoying their beauty or in wanting to seem them exterminated. This is a great capture. :O)
