Description
...And for all those other ducks out there!
I've often said that when my twin brother, Steve, and I came back to northcentral Kansas with my mother, grandmother, and Uncle Ford to resettle on the family farm that it seemed to us like we were two ducks in a chicken yard. It wasn't a bad place, but we always felt strange and out of place. We were creative and citified and didn't especially enjoy hard work or fixing mechanical things. Up until that time, we had always lived away from our large extended family (which consisted of about three-quarters of Ottawa County at that time--1947). In fairness, they didn't know what to make of us any more than we could figure out them. In truth, unlike in a real chicken yard where the ducklings would have likely been pecked to death, our family embraced us. To them, we were weird little kids but we were their weird little kids. We always felt loved, but at the same time a bit "substandard" for lack of a better way of putting it.
What I like about Renderosity is that it is one great Duck yard. It's great to be home at last!
Thanks for dropping by and taking a look. Comments are welcome.

Wonderful Image & Story Jeremy. I also know the duck in the chicken yard feeling all too well..
Excellent!
Wonderful job - love the chicken-wire shadows! Obviously your artistic inner self thrived despite the environment LOL! Nice job!
And the first duck said to the second duck there, quack quack quack. Which loosely translates "just pretend like you are a chicken and will blend right in"
I always been a Ducky Mr Kjer. I like your story and the render.
Excellent way of bringing the story to life, great work
wow lol love it!!!
Quack! Look a little threatening from the ducks' POV. Great job. And thanks for the story.
Love the story and the image, Jeremy. It's nice to fit in somewhere after feeling like the odd addition. I love the shadows of the netting and the way it falls over the elements.
Beautiful sentiment..You know there are a lot of us who feel like those ducks one time or another. I feel like them a great deal of the time. I enjoyed your story and glad I have seen the picture. Nice render too.
