This floatplane is approaching the 'downtown' area of Ketchikan from the north along the Tongass Narrow.
Picture was taken on 26 May 2009 from deck 14 of the 'Star Princess'.

A place I plan to visit some day... nice to see.
I get such a thrill from this. My cousin used to fly from one place to another when she worked in the northern region of Alaska. No roads led past the edge of town... :-) I always wished I could ride in one of those planes in the wilderness...see things others don't see.
These "flightseeing" pilots were a little on the crazy side, to fly into some of the places that we went. Great group of pilots - great stop action capture. Dana
