Description
Please don't miss a zoom on this one.
I am always interested in capturing my backyard birds in as much detail as possible and this young House Finch afforded me just that opportunity.
As I photograph birds 10-20 feet out my kitchen window, the biggest variable is lighting based upon the time of the day and the weather. Some times, all factors come together for a high resolution result...lots of times they don't :-)
Hope you enjoy this juvenile finch standing in the ever present seed bowl.

Very nice!
Great capture.
gorgeous!!!!!
Incredible! Stunning! Excellent! Etc! Straight to Faves! Rob.
Beautifully done, Bill, and you are well on your way to getting really good detail! The harsh light of midday and a setting the feeder even closer to the window will yield even greater detail. :)
oh, the zoom is beautiful. The light and shimmer of the wings (very subtle but very 'there') are beautiful. And its posture is regal. You even got the red around its beak, and the tuft atop its head; and your background is deeply green enough to be a perfect backdrop for the shot. Regal & beautiful, where what you wrote worked: You got all the elements in this one, not the least of which was your always deeply tuned eye and intelligent choices. Beautiful. Voila!
Absolutely Beautiful!
I do enjoy it! Great capture!
you did get good detail Bill
You have caught this one beautifully.
The background, the color and glow of the dish, even the seeds all the colors in this just help to enhance the beauty of the bird. Very impressive.
