Description
This is a companion piece to four other views from the 99th Floor already posted during the last week.
Scene looking south to southeast from the top of the Sears Tower. As your eye follows the Lake Michigan shoreline you come to the southern end of the lake and where the State of Illinois bumps into the State of Indiana. The first major city of Indiana...way out there (tiny here) is Gary, Indiana.
Geography, isn't it wonderful? It certainly impacts different people in different ways.
Thanks for stopping by and all your wonderful support via comments and favorites!!!
Do ZOOM...this is a big file.
Bill:)
P.S. The streaky window problem is back with us in this panorama. Next time I'll have to schedule the window washers the day before my arrival:-)

Fantastic image. Excellent shot!!
great view!!!!! Fantastic shot!!!!!
Superb Pano Bill!
Beautiful vista, Bill, the city seems to go on forever! I wish the same thing about window washers at the zoo!
Just wonderful Bill! Chicago is mighty flat!!! - but a lovely city! :)
Very informative, as said it looks very flat. Grreat work, Clive
All I can say is WOW, the zoom is a must, almost see the people on the ground. :o)
fabulous shot!!
Beautiful deepth view (3000 milles farther) it's Florida state :)
Interesting and excellent capture. Such a densely populated place.
another superlative view! the collage is fantastic and gives a perfect idea of how grand the cityscape is!
I would love to use my 10-20 up there.outstanding work
Awesome, every single one of these, I never knew how flat it was out there--makes me wonder what it looked like back in the day.
You captured a vast expanse of territory in this high altitude panoramic foto, Bill. Is that smog or just natural haze way out in the distance? Or maybe my browser is just playing tricks on me.
Great view of the beautiful and scenic Southside of Chicago.(LOL) My old neighborhood is next to the peninsula (Rainbow Beach Park) on the far end of the lake just before the curve into Indiana.
Thanks for the reminder to zoom. I got lost in it for a while. Spectacular addition to the series!
Such an awesome view!! Can you imagine your job, as being the one to wash those windows?? I don't believe they could pay me enough to do it!
A great view!
Was able to get up there several years back..but it was at night...lots of lights then...zoom is great...
Very nice shot. There is a bridge over there in the distance which is my adversary, one of these days I am going to go over that bridge without being scared to death. Chicago is huge, and you have gone to heights I can't bring myself to. This isn't a nice shat.... this is a great shot.
Big is the only way to see this and appreciate it! Wonderfuly done!
Looks like we're coming round to the industrial bit. These are truly awsome pic's Bill.
An amazing scene! Great shot!
Amazing ... I'd be so dizzy if I were up there; I'm dizzy just looking at this! Excellent pano Bill. :)
Another great view in spite of the window. My knowledge is growing by the day.
Another nice view, further east on down the lake you run into the indiana state dunes park. A pleasant place to spend a day as well.
