Excellent light and shadows you captured here.
Helle, it's a stark, hidden & mysterious shot, withe 3 basic elements: the plant, its shadow, and the wall. (Nikolay would feel at home with this!) The play of plant against its shadow is just beautiful. As is the rich texture of the wall. What's so nice about shots like these is that they bring the art of photography to its most elemental level, allowing us to see very few things as purely as possible. And it gives your wonderful sense of texture a chance to shine. As Bach did with his 2 & 3 Part Inventions, you have created a world of contrasts with 3 basic "melodies". The result is pure & beautiful. I love this shot.

I saw your other version of this plant. WOW! It grew fast! Well...it had a year to keep itself busy, after all! I like the way the plant is so small here and so skinny. Like a teenager! I also agree with Mark about the way this is very bold, with very simple elements. It's a bit like Japanese poetry, only it's a picture and not a poem made out of words. Ah...maybe it's a poem made out of a plant and a wall with shadows and sunlight! It's very elegant!
How wonderful to see the before and after. I hope there are many afters yet to come. Excellent light, shadows and textures! I like the geometric triangle of the bottom shadow and the cluster of leaves lit up against it. The shadow seems bolder than the plant. That difference, the addition of a bit of shadow that is not part of the plant, and having seen how fast it grew, makes me think of the shadow as a projection of the inner strength of the plant and its promise for the future. Beautiful image!
